Achray House Hotel, St Fillans

Built as a stately country home in the late 1800s, it was ‘Victoria Cottage’ for a while, in honour of Queen Victoria, who commented on it when passing St Fillans on her way to the Highlands.

It’s on the banks of Loch Earn, in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, only an hour’s drive from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth.

The 2 AA rosette Lochview Restaurant is welcoming and relaxed, all against a charming backdrop of rolling hills reflecting off the Loch. Inside you’ll find a cosy open fire burning in the colder months with a navy and gold décor and drinking in that wonderful view over a dram or two really is the cherry on top of the cake. Speaking of cake, the chef uses classical French techniques that are well worth a visit alone.
