Glasgow & The West

The George Hotel

Originally a private house when first constructed in 1770, and later partially converted into two churches, The George Hotel’s rich history is encapsulated in its décor, which features original flag-stoned floors plus log and peat fires.

It has been in the Clark family for eight generations and under the families stewardship it has gained a reputation far and wide for great hospitality. Their emphasis is very much on local produce such as West Highland beef and Loch Fyne salmon while the drinks menu features real ales, wines, cocktails and more than 100 malt whiskies.

Look out for its ‘Sunday Snug’ offers which are popular indeed. The George houses 17 lovely bedrooms, some with four-posters. It’s also a dog friendly environment and guests can stay over with their pooches too.

The Garden Bar includes a wood fired food tent with open fires and brand new canopies to keep you cosy, so that you can make the most of the winter and summer nights.
