The Jolly Judge

A mere stone’s throw from the castle, The Jolly Judge sits at the foot of an Edinburgh close, at the centre of one of the capital’s historic Old Town and is all the better for it.

If you’re a bit of a giant you might have to duck down a bit because of the low-beamed ceilings, but everybody is made to feel so jolly welcome of course thanks to a log fire helping to create a very welcoming and tranquil atmosphere. They really do have Scottish hospitality down to an art at the Jolly Judge.

But what about the whisky?  All we can say is that you’ll be spoilt for choice once you clap eyes on its range of malt and blended whiskies, real ales and bar lunches – all curated by a team that really seem to know their onions.
