The Lismore

A previous winner of the Wee DRAM Whisky Bar of the Year trophy, The Lismore has an excellent range of malts (300-plus and counting), and also does a very reasonable Malt of the Month.

It’s one of the best known pubs in the area
and has been sympathetically restored with exposed stone walls and quirky features including stained glass windows depicting scenes from the Highland Clearances.

Urinals in the gents’ loos feature the men who orchestrated the Clearances – with customers encouraged to acknowledge them as they see fit.

The main part of the bar runs almost the length of the building and always has a buzz about it, while the lounge is perfect for a relaxed drink and there is also a suntrap of an outside area.

There are regular folk music sessions every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening at The Lismore, as well as an open-mic night every Thursday – not to mention impromptu jams whenever the mood so takes the many musicians who enjoy a wee dram here.
