It has been famous as a whisky-bar for many a year and the current owner has continued that traditional but has given The Lochside a more modern make-over.
The lounge bar, designed by Scottish artist Ranald McColl, pays homage to Islay’s whisky heritage, and is home to an extensive collection of fine and rare Islay whiskies, around 300 in total with the public bar adjacent, on the site of the former Duffies Bar, is a haunt for regulars.
The Lochside’s restaurant does have the most amazing views out across Loch Indaal and and on a good day you can sit outside and revel in the scenery.
With 12 newly refurbished ensuite bedrooms , The Lochside is a great place to hang your hat for a few days or more.
