This award-winning venue has 10 luxury rooms, a bar, dining room, conservatory and terrace overlooking the bay. Guests can relax in the comfortable residents’ lounge or in front of a warming wood-burning fire in the bar and enjoy convivial company over a whisky or two. Throughout the main season, there is regular live traditional music (when Covid restrictions allow).

The Port Charlotte Hotel bar plays host to nearly 150 Islay and Jura malts including rare ones and local ales and gins too. A few years ago it won the accolade Malt Whisky Bar of the Year from The Good Pub Guide while its restaurant has been awarded a Trip Advisor accolade – ‘Certificate of Excellence.’ and holds a Visit Scotland Taste our Best award – a guarantee of a menu rich in locally-sourced fresh produce. The extensive seasonal menu includes light bites and fine dining and fresh Islay Seafood platters are a speciality of the house in the summer.
